His philosophy on clientele?
“We enjoy serving just about every potential client – from those with a limited budget to the extremely wealthy. It’s a very broad base.”
Having guided the firm since 1970, David knows what he’s talking about. This broad client base is testament to Morton McGoldrick’s success with those at all professional and socioeconomic levels, and who have a vast scope of scope of needs, from real estate deals to corporate business issues, and commercial litigation to probate situations.
His unique skills?
“I’m competent. I’m careful. And I work well with people,” he says.
David’s depth of experience and community involvement clearly backs up this assessment. His education credentials include a BA at Washington State University, and a J.D. law diploma from the University of Washington. He’s also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kapps Khi, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Alpha Delta organizations.
In addition, you’ll often find him immersed in outreach efforts around the Puget Sound region. He’s been an adjunct teacher at Seattle University Law School; he taught real estate courses at Fort Steilacoom Community College; and he’s a frequent speaker at statewide estate-planning seminars.
David is also the past president of the Tacoma/Pierce County Estate Planning Council, and he was on the Board of Trustees for the WSU Foundation. He was an Honor College advisor for that school as well. And he’s a member of the Washington State and Tacoma—Pierce County bar associations.
When he’s not out spreading the word about law, he and his wife run the free Thrifty Neighborhood Clinic at the corner of 6th and Division streets in Tacoma. Or, he’s playing with his four grandchildren, and interacting with his own three. Or tending to apples, pears, plums, and other produce at his farm on Anderson Island.
As for his role in the firm, and attracting future cases, McGoldrick says, “From a marketing angle, we don’t do any real advertising. We just try to do the best job possible that we can for our clients so they have a good experience here. We serve them well.”
